How To Tell The Difference Between The Fake Work At Home Jobs And The Real Ones
April 11, 2009
There are many fake work at home job sites which tell you that you can make easy and fast money, but they only want your upfront fees. There are also real work at home job sites which actually get you real work. So how can you tell the difference?
People who want to work from home are in a way already at a disadvantage. The want to do the work from home because they may be having kids or elderly parents to look after, or they cannot find jobs easily near where they live and do not want to move or to commute. They may not be wanting full time work, because the time they have is limited. Or they may be already working at a full time job and want to supplement their income.
The Fakes
While it is understandable that you may have to invest some money to make money, the question arises as to how much money you need to invest and what are the returns which are promised to you. As the scam ratio is 54:1, you really need to find out whether the job sites are genuine or fake and for that you need to do hard core research on the internet and not go by testimonials which are posted by the sites themselves.
The fake sites offer you downloads of their ‘secrets’ or other ‘ebooks’ which will help you mint money. The question here is if they are already millionaires, why do they want to ‘sell’ their secrets to you? Unless they want to add to their coffers by ripping you off!
The net abounds with stories of people getting scammed by job sites which promise work, but do not deliver. Check out the stories.
The Real Job Sites
Through real work at home job sites, you may find real work which allows you to earn a decent income, depending on the hours you are willing to put in. Again real job sites should not ask for upfront money for membership/registration, unless it is something really nominal because they made their money through advertisements and affiliate links.

How Can You Find Real Jobs At Home
You can post your resume at job sites and look for telecommuting jobs. Then there is other work you can do from home. If you are a programmer, web-site designer, writer, virtual assistant, data entry specialist you can find work from writing and coding websites like rentacoder, elance, getafreelancer and others. Craiglist has a lot of jobs posted, but there is no guarantee how many are genuine and how many are scams. If there are any real addresses given and you can go and meet people, so much the better – there is lesser possibility of getting scammed.

’1. when I find a work at home scheme, I go immediately to Google and type in the name of the company and I search until I see negative links which is usually the first 1 or 2 links; not too hard to find, I READ THEM!
’2. I then Google the location of that State Attorney General’s office in that state where they are located, I find an email and a contact name and I forward the email immediately to that state Attorney General’s email, then I spam the email I received.
’Let me tell you the amount of emails have been considerably decreased since I started that system.
’NEVER GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, THAT IS WHEN IDENTITY THEFT HAPPENS!!
’If someone can make that much money, then that company would not be giving any information.’
If people were to follow these guidelines, then they would be less likely to fall for work-at-home scam sites. And you can follow most of these steps, no matter which part of the world you live in. If you have been scammed, you need to report it.
