Jim Merrill lost 20 pounds in two months. He went on what he calls is the S.P.A.M. diet which stands for Simply Push and Move – push yourself away from the table and move to get some exercise. He cut back on his caloric intake and started walking. He walks for 8 miles a day, does 30 minutes elliptical training, 100 body twists and 100-200 crunches every day.
He also started taking part in running activities and trekking. As a result he lost more weight than he needed and became too thin; then he increased his weight to 178 pounds which he maintains. He says he feels better in his sixties than he did in his fifties.
Chrys Marty at 5’3” weighed 265 pounds. Once on vacation she overheard her son being told by another child something that embarrassed her and she determined to lose weight. She cut out all junk food and carbs from her diet and doubled her intake of vegetables. In one month she lost 20 pounds.
She also started walking, first half a mile then gradually 3 miles daily, and lost another 20 pounds then she started low impact aerobic exercise. Her family supported her and everybody started eating healthy foods. Then she lost another 10 pounds.
She ran and jogged more and lost another 10 pounds. She entered marathons and increased her exercise schedule. At the end of it she went from size 26 to size 12 and eventually lost a total of 125 pounds.
Gabriela from Sofia, Bulgaria, is 18 and was 213 pounds. She lost weight via a diet and exercise regimen. She cut out all breads and sweets from her diet. According to her, it was most difficult for her to give up eating chocolates.
Apart from dieting, she drinks a lot of water, has green tea, indulges in belly dancing and plays a lot of basketball. She also does weight training and goes to the gym four times a week. It took her one month to see results and seven months to reduce 48 pounds.
Karl, 25, from Pomona, NY was weighing 260 pounds. He had been unhappy with his weight for six years. Finally he decided to do something about it after he got a decent job and wanted to change his life around. He stopped having sodas, midnight snacks, especially white castle crave cases all by himself.
He also hit the gym and did weight training and cardiovascular work outs. He jogged a couple of miles everyday and even ab workouts every night. He did not eat after 8 p.m. With these steps and a lot of mental dedication he lost 63 pounds in six months.
