Blogging nowadays is not only popular but also is practiced by so many people that you simply have to be good at blogging to become yourself very popular. Everybody is looking for means through which they could attract more traffic towards their blog, but this is not even by far an easy job. You see, initially, blogs were created as an easier alternative to websites and their creation.
Since a website takes sufficient time to create and maintain, a blog does not take more than 5 minutes to create and less than 1 minute to “maintain it” because there is nothing to actually maintain about it. You can update it very easy, through the same platform, without having to modify anything within the content. If in the early days of blogging a blog was solely used as a mean through which you can expose your ideas, nowadays you can promote and advertise through your blog too.

Interesting content – The main thing about blogging is that everybody is searching for the perfect thing to write within it, and everybody is doing it in a plain way. The secret is to add a bit of creativity and personality to your blog, make it speak, not just bore your reader. Something new that isn’t already available on other sites i.e. something very unique will always likely briong very good traffic. So, writing on a very niche topic, for example, may be a good example of this.
Make it easier for readers to return – Remember that if a reader likes your blog you should provide for him the easiest return way because otherwise you he may not ever read your blog again. The absence of an RSS feed can mean smaller number of readers, because nowadays many people are using RSS readers and it is easier for them to read more blogs (including yours!) this way.
Often updates – If you only update your blog once in a while, as in two or three times a month, do not be surprised if you will only see just a few visitors because people are looking for updated content
Comment other people’s blogs – Even if you do not have something to say right away, try as much as you can to comment on other people’s blogs, and make new connections, because they will help you gain more visitors indirectly.
