Yvonne Ortiz learnt about fashion and style at her mother’s knee. Her mother worked with influential and well known designers like Galanos and Edith Head. When she was five she sewed her first dress and later, when she was 17, she found herself more interested in hair and makeup.

She trained with some of the innovators in the world of hair and makeup including AVEDA, Sonia Kashuk, Ginger Boyle and Gary Gerard. She has worked professionally with such companies as Sony, People Magazine, More Magazine and Toys R’ Us and with products lines such as AVEDA, Benefit, Vincent Longo, Origins and Clarins.

Yvonne has also worked as instructor with the students of the International School of Cosmetology and Marinello Schools of Beauty. She has worked in fashion and portrait photography and film. She has worked with notable photographers and filmmakers such as Dana Fineman, Maria Rangel, Robert Lynden, Bryan Root, Rich Newey and with actors Sam Anderson, John Ritter, Carmen Thomas, and David Lascher. Reagan Dale Neis, star of “Stations” and ”Maybe it’s Me“ says, “Yvonne is one of the top three make-up artists I have worked with in my career.”

She has worked for 20 years in the industry and is still enthusiastic and upbeat about her work.
