How to accept payments for your online business

E-commerce refers to business activities carried over the internet i.e. buying and selling and it's growing bigger day by day. For any site to receive payments online a few steps are needed to be taken that are:

Set up a merchant account with a bank which will allow you to process your online payments through credit cards

Incase you are not eligible for a merchant account there are 3rd party merchant accounts also which collect the payment on your behalf and later credit it to your account. But it is important to notify the customer the name that will reflect on their statement to avoid any confusion.

Apart from merchant accounts there is another option of online payment - collectors that provide payment collection services to their registered users. One of the best service providers is paypal, which has no registration fee, and at he same time have a very nominal collection charge.

A few other 3rd party online collectors are:
1. World Pay

2. Check Out

3. Clickbank
