Recent statistics indicate that up to 2,000 children are reported missing daily in the United States, while almost 800,000 disappear for at least one time during the year. In case your child is missing from home, don’t panic. Check the house thoroughly, including all the places where he can hide. Search the neighborhood, call his/her friends and your nearby relatives, because most of the times, children loose track of time when they get caught in the game.

On September 23, 2007, a worried father announced the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s call center that his 15-year-old daughter is missing. The girl left home for attending the local high school’s football game and never returned. The father called the local authorities and NCMEC. NCMEC started a search campaign in the nearby areas, assisted by the local police. Sue and Ted

Sue and Ted were both heroin addicts. Ted had been battling addiction for 20 years, and then Sue also started shooting up. She was told it would make her headaches and muscular pains, which she had been suffering from, better.

She quickly became addicted and both of them would be buying drugs from drug dealers with their two children in tow and then shooting up in dark corners in front of the kids. They were both working and leading ‘regular’ lives and nobody knew about their secret addiction.

She tried to stop a number of times and was finally successful after taking methadone. She is recovering, but they lost their home, and are living with relatives, trying to get their lives back in order. Ted relapsed, but is back on methadone now and trying to get clean.

President Obama’s Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra stole $134 worth of four JC Penney shirts way back in 1996. When caught, he ran for it, but did not succeed. He was observed by a security guard putting the men’s shirts into a shopping bag and leaving the store without paying

He pleaded guilty when caught and the property recovered. He was 22 at that time. Obviously he has put his ‘crime’ behind now.
