The Himalayan also known as the Himalayan Persian is a longhaired pedigree cat that is one of the most popular cats in the world. They are similar to the Persian but have blue eyes and point colorations that makes this breed distinct.

The Himalayan is of course related to the Persian or at least crossbred with this breed along with the Siamese and then interbred until the unique color points were established.

Height and weight

The body of a Himalayan cat is from medium to large in size, weighing about 8 to 15 pounds.

Colors and coat

The coat of the Himalayan is long and silky with color point patterning. The colors of the Himalayan points can include seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, flame, tortie, blue-cream, cream, and lynx points. All Himalayan cats have blue eyes.
