Damian Hatton was an accident and emergency doctor at the University College Hospital back in 2001. During his work years, he was impressed by the number of homeless people who asked for help while bring treated into the emergency department. He felt the need of doing more for them, but he was not sure what the best option was. Even since he was a teenager, Damian understood the power of sport and its impact on the young generation. Therefore, he tried to organize an event that engaged people in fun and healthy activities.
His first project involved organizing a month and a half of football training and a final tournament. It was a huge success amongst homeless people in the area.
