According to recent news reports, the incidence of bedbugs in the US has shown an unprecedented increase. Apparently they are turning up in theatres, stores, motels, hotels and private homes all over the US. People are finding it difficult to get rid of them and also getting sleep thanks to these little insects.
Bedbugs are small insects which feed on human (or other mammal) blood. They live in mattresses, sofas and other soft furnishings. They are active in the dark and usually before sunrise. Like many other insects which bite humans, they anaesthetize the person and it is only after they have bitten and sucked out the blood, that the person will feel the bite and start itching.
