Human papillomavirus can cause more than one hundred different kinds of infections, of which more than 40 are sexually transmitted. It can affect both men and women and most people don’t even know that they have the infection. The infection is so prevalent that 40-50 percent of sexually active people may have it and be asymptomatic.
