How to Learn Essentials of Car Mechanics (Real Examples)31 Dec

Josephine Mendoza

Whoever said that car mechanics is exclusively dedicated to men is completely wrong. Josephine Mendoza is the best example. In 2005, she joined the USAID first auto mechanics apprenticeship programs. She studied car mechanics for half a year, then she took the Agricultural and Industrial Training Bureau trade test o get her license. Josephine then returned to Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, to work in a garage. Although Josephine was a single mother of two, she felt she had a chance in life and signed up for attending high school at night.

In 2008, she as assigned to work as an intern with a contractor in heavy –duty mechanics. In just few months, after completing the internship, she was promoted as a site supervisor. Her determination is impressive and proves that women can do anything they want, including car mechanics. As long as she manages to support her family, she will continue working as a mechanic.
