New York, New York - a charming city known worldwide. Are you making a visit to New York in the near future? Well, it will be worth your while to check out some places to make the best of your visit to New York. It is probably best to take your trip to New York in the early fall as the weather is absolutely beautiful. Here are some favorites to visit to make your trip to New York the best ever.

You have to shop and tour downtown Manhattan. This is the main business and commercial district of New York City and adds a special touch to your visit to New York. Parking is expensive so you might want to take advantage of mass transit to get there. After you have done your shopping you may feel a bite to eat. When it comes to eateries, New York has it all. You will come across restaurants sampling the foods from every corner of the globe. Whether you fancy an Italian, Chinese, Indian, Lebanese, they are all here. Of course, this is also the home of fast food, so a McDonalds restaurant is never too far away.

And referring to mass transit: On your visit to New York you really need to try out the subways to get to your destination. These are the trains that you see in all the movies set in New York. Try it just to say you did.

For the American baseball fan or for those curious about American baseball, you have to visit Yankee Stadium. If you go to New York in the early fall, you may just be able to take in a game as the American Major League Baseball season ends at the end of September. What is so special about Yankee Stadium? This is the "House that Babe Built" referring to the American Baseball Legend Babe Ruth. You'll see the effects of American baseball's greatest in Yankee Stadium.

New York City is a city of immigrants and always has been. Considering this, you should make it a point to visit the Ellis Island on the other side of New York Harbor. This is where it all started when immigrants from Europe came to start a new life in America. Seeing the rich history of this place will help you to understand the immigrant spirit of New York. You can also take a tour of the Statue of Liberty which is close by to Ellis Island.
