How to make the best of your vacation to California

So, you would like to travel to California . Are you wondering how to get the most of your California vacation? There's so much to do! You can visit the Hollywood scene, spend time on the beach, take a wine tour, or visit some of the many spectacular national and state parks. How do you choose the activities that will give you the best California travel experience? Here are some tips:

Consider your interests

What would you like to experience when you travel to California ? For example, If you like the outdoors, a national park such as Yosemite will be your best bet. If you are curious about celebrities and the film making process, consider visiting Hollywood. If you love wine, a trip to Napa Valley is your best bet.

How much time do you have

In order to get a good overview during your California vacation, you need to reserve at least two weeks. If only certain aspects of California interest you, you may not need as much time.

How will you get there

If you live in a nearby state, driving is always an option. If you are coming from further away, flying is your best bet. If you want to see both the north and the south of the state in the same trip, consider flying into L.A and then leaving from someplace like San Francisco. That way, you can save time spent traveling from one location to the other.

Find a place to stay

During off peak California travel season, you can get away with making your hotel and travel arrangements as you go along. This spontaneous method works best if you have guidebooks with you and a cell phone. If it is peak season, you will need to plan everything in advance.

Do your research

Once you find a place to stay, research the activities you would like to do. There are plenty of websites online or you can use a guidebook. But no matter how much research you do, always be open to spontaneity. Sometimes the most enjoyable California travel experiences happen completely by accident.
