How to prepare for a job interview

In order to secure a job it's very important to do the interview well, but for this a very crucial step is to do your homework right. This is about getting your facts right and analyzing the situation accordingly.

A few steps which may help you to be well researched are:

Try and secure as much relevant information about the organization as possible. By understanding their products services and area of operations.

Research the organization

Use your research on the financials of the company to provide you a statistic about how big the company is and what may be its possible expectations from someone who they recruit.

Try and speak to people who have worked with the organization before who may give you a much clearer idea about the way things go in that particular organization.

Prepare likely questions

Prepare a set of questions which you may like to ask during the interview. Be careful these should not be asked for heck of asking but should leave a good impression about you and must present you as knowledgeable

Figure out what the current job posting demands from a candidate with respect to skills and working knowledge and try to prepare accordingly.

Knowing yourself

Make certain that you have a thorough knowledge of your career thus far. You should be able to answer any questions an interviewer fires at you without hesitation. Think about how could apply your previous experience to the job you are being interviewed for. This is always a key element in every job interview.

Mock interview

You may want to do a mock interview with a friend. Your friend will assume the position of the interviewer and try and ask the likely questions. This a great way to improve confidence and iron out all the deficiencies in your interview technique.
