How to improve your memory

Memory refers to the information stored in an individual's brain. Everyone has the same capacity it is just all about the way one uses it. The following steps will help you improve your memory:

  • Be attentive and alert while listening or seeing something this helps in grasping things easily and store them in your memory

  • It's always better to understand things rather to simply memorize them. An understanding of a concept or an idea gives you a broader knowledge of it, while simply memorizing things without understanding will not be beneficial in the long run.

  • Associate the new things learned to things you already know. This will help you to relate the meaning and significance and understand them better. such a practice will help to use the words, concepts or information to be applied to other things in future

  • Use rhymes, formulas or a systematic pattern to link things which will serve as an aid to memory.

  • Repeat and review what you have just learnt. Try and apply it in future applications to make it a more routine action rather than just a piece of information stored in your memory.

  • Rest well and relax this will help you be healthier and sharpen your memory

  • Try and write down what you are trying to memorize this will help in feeding it in your mind even reciting things will be helpful.

Try and develop an interest for things you are trying to remember because interesting things are easy to remember. These tips should help to improve your memory.
